Fork sensors for labeling machines

The most common application in which you can use fork sensors is label detection in labeling machines. In the packaging industry, product labeling is mostly automatic, and labels come in various formats, sizes, materials, and textures. The time for the accurate placement of the label is usually very limited. Ensure reliable label detection and ensure extremely short sensor response times!

These requirements are met by fork sensors from Leuze, as a combination of transmitter and receiver in one device. Take advantage of their exceptional sensitivity and simple mounting without the need for alignment.

Ultrasonic and light detection in 1 housing

fork sensors GSX14E Leuze

The GSX14E fork sensor combines light and ultrasonic detection methods in the same housing. Bringing together the advantages of both principles, it will provide you with reliable, fast and precise detection of a wide range of different labels. The material, texture, shape and size of the labels are not limiting.

Even labels made of inhomogeneous cavitated BOPP material can be reliably detected through the optical operating principle. The Fork Sensor is ideal for your applications, where a wide range of labels need to be detected, for which, in the past, the use of multiple different sensors was required.

Advantages of the combined fork sensors

  • The reliable detection of labels of a wide range of materials and textures ensures high machine throughputs and prevents downtime,
  • No reconfiguring of the sensor is required when switching label rolls. The shorter setup times result in higher production volumes,
  • Quick and easy setup of the sensor through simply teaching in of the label/carrier combination via the teach button,
  • IO-Link for easy integration of additional functions in the machine control, allows setting the sensor via PLC.
